LIMA, Ohio– UNOH beat UC Clermont by a score of 95-72 on Wednesday night. It was a super competitive game for the first three quarters before the Racers pulled away in the fourth quarter. The Racers held a 65-58 lead at the end of three quarters, before outscoring the Cougars 30-14 in the fourth. It was a back and forth game, each team trading runs. Alysia Lawson led UNOH with 38 points. Forward Lori Huffman had 10 rebounds, while guard Brooke Asher led the team with eight assists.
Tamira Scott led UC Clermont in scoring with 36 points on 13-27 from the field. Keara Brooks pulled down a team high 13 rebounds (8 defensive, 5 offensive) for the Cougars.
UNOH shot 51.5% from the field, while UC Clermont shot 38.8%. The Cougars out rebounded the Racers by a 39-37 margin. UNOH scored 31 fast break points, while UC Clermont had just six fast break points. The Racers nearly doubled the Cougars in points in the paint, scoring 46 to the Cougars 24. UNOH had 19 assists as a team to just 7 from UC Clermont.
UNOH moves to 2-0 and will play #23 Shawnee State at home on Saturday at 7 p.m. UC Clermont falls to 0-1 and will host Simmons College of Kentucky on Saturday at 1 p.m.
