LOUISVILLE, Kentucky- The Simmons Falcons beat the UC Clermont Lady Cougars by a score of 74-52 on Saturday. The Falcons exploded for 30 points in the second quarter and took a 44-26 lead into halftime.
McKaila Hatton connected on five 3-pointers and finished with 24 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Keara Brooks had a team-high 13 rebounds. Lucy Rosen had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Morgan Defoor hit five 3-pointers while finishing with 26 points and 5 assists. Precious Hereford had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kyndall Thompson shot 6-8 from the field and finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Falcons won the rebound battle 45-36 and had 38 points in the paint compared to just 18 by the Lady Cougars. Simmons got 46 points from their bench, 27 points off turnovers, 24 2nd-chance points, and 12 fast break points.
UC Clermont falls to 7-9 overall and will host Miami Hamilton on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Simmons improves to 6-7 overall and will travel to play Alice Lloyd College on January 27th at 5:30 p.m.
