HAMILTON, Ohio- The UC Clermont Lady Cougars fell to the Miami Hamilton Harriers by a score of 70-51 on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars jumped out to a 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Harriers out scored Clermont 20-10 in the second quarter and took a 31-25 lead into halftime. Miami Hamilton kept the momentum going into the second half. The third quarter was quite competitive and concluded with a 53-42 lead for the Harriers. Miami Hamilton put the game away in the fourth, out scoring the Lady Cougars 17-9.
Kenya Benson hit 7 three pointers while finishing with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Taj Pewett had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Kirsten Cross had a great all-around performance with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks, and a steal. Beri Ngwa had a team-high 12 rebounds and 8 assists to go along with 6 points. Mackenzy Shackelford had 8 points and 11 rebounds off of the bench.
Tamira Scott knocked down three triples and had a near double-double with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. Keara Brooks notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Bryana Price had 8 points and 8 rebounds while Lucy Rosen finished with 6 points and 5 rebounds.
Miami Hamilton shot 39.1% from three and had 20 assists as a team. The Harriers won the rebound battle 43-40.
UC Clermont falls to 10-11 overall and will travel to play Vincennes University on Friday at 6 p.m. Miami Hamilton improves to 12-6 overall and will travel to play Ohio Christian on Saturday at 1 p.m.
