UC Clermont @ Saint Mary of the Woods College Women’s Basketball Game Recap

     ST.MARY’S, Indiana- UC Clermont beat Saint Mary of the Woods College in a 64-63 thriller on Saturday at Hamilton Arena. The Cougars went into halftime with a 34-30 lead, but trailed by one point going into the fourth quarter. It came down to the wire and UC Clermont pulled out the win in the end.

 

     Anna Voskuhl had 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds and connected on three 3-pointers. Victoria Brooks had 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kristi Duncan added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Ball movement was a key aspect to the win, as UC Clermont had 22 assists as a team. The Cougars shot 51.1% from the field and had 11 steals, compared to just 5 from the Pomeroys.

 

     Sydney Ingram was perfect from the free-throw line and had 17 points to go along with 3 boards for Saint Mary. Avalee Jeffers had 14 points, 16 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists. Jeffers had 10 offensive rebounds and the Pomeroys outrebounded the Cougars 35-to-25. Maggie Reimer added 12 points and 6 rebounds. The Pomeroys shot 76.5% from the free-throw line.

 

     Saint Mary of the Woods College falls to 0-7 and will look for their first win at home against Oakland City University on Thursday at 7 p.m. UC Clermont improves to 5-5 and will be on the road against Clark State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
