UC Clermont @ Ohio Christian University Men’s Basketball Game Recap

     CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio- After falling behind by 18 at halftime, the Cougar’s second half rally falls short in a 96-86 loss to Ohio Christian on Saturday. UC Clermont put up 53 points in the second half, but allowed 51 first half points.

     John Aicholtz had 22 points, 9 boards, and 3 steals for UC Clermont. Greg Marsh had 14 points, 5 steals, and 5 assists. UC Clermont only had 6 assists as a team, compared to 20 by Ohio Christian. Jared Baldock hit two 3-pointers and had 13 points off of the bench. David Hunter and Josh Baker each had 10 points and were perfect from the free-throw line. The Cougars only turned the ball over 9 times, while the Trail Blazers turned it over 19 times. UC Clermont had 16 steals as a team, compared to just 3 steals by Ohio Christian.

     Titus Burns connected on four 3-pointers and had 25 points to go along with 8 rebounds for Ohio Christian. Justin Barksdale added 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. The Trail Blazers outrebounded the Cougars 46-to-39. Devon Miller had 18 points and went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field. Ohio Christian shot 51.4% from the field as a team. Ben Casey had 13 points, while Juan Woods had 12 points off of the bench.

     Ohio Christian improves to 5-12 and will be home against Kent State University at Tuscarawas on Thursday at 6 p.m. UC Clermont falls to 5-4 and will be home against Boyce on Thursday at 6 p.m.
