NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio- The UC Clermont Cougars beat the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles by a score of 97-77 on Saturday. The Cougars led 49-32 at halftime and continued that momentum into the second half, out scoring the Golden Eagles 48-35.
Caden Zeinner shot 9-for-15 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Zeinner had a team-high 27 points to go along with 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and a block. Landon Naylor shot 8-for-13 from the field while securing a double-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Kenyon Gardner shot 7-for-10 from the field while finishing with 15 points, 8 rebounds, a team-high 5 blocks, and 2 steals. Robbie Johnson connected on three triples while finishing with 15 points and a team-high 4 steals. AJ Robinson gave the Cougars 12 points and 5 rebounds off of the bench.
Dasjuan Williams knocked down three triples while finishing with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Garrett Sprute recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Blaine Raber had 12 points and 6 rebounds while Ethan Bower also added 10 points. Jerry Arrington gave the Golden Eagles 8 points with a team-high 11 rebounds and 3 assists off of the bench.
UC Clermont wins their 4th consecutive game to improve to 14-5 overall. The Cougars will travel to play Miami Middletown on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Kent State Tuscarawas falls to 11-12 overall and will host Wright State- Lake Campus on Friday at 6 p.m.
