BATAVIA, Ohio– UC Clermont shot 62.9% from the field en route to a 102-89 victory over Boyce on Tuesday evening. The Cougars led 53-47 at halftime and continued the hot shooting throughout the night, outscoring the Bulldogs 49-42 in the second half.
Jack Kronauge had a team-high 22 points, 11 assists, and 6 steals. Kenyon Gardner led the team with 6 blocks and 6 rebounds, scoring 16 points on 7-10 from the field. Landon Naylor went a perfect 5-5 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line, adding 14 points and 4 assists. Robbie Johnson connected on a team-high four 3-pointers while giving the Cougars 13 points and 5 rebounds off of the bench. Caden Zeinner also gave the team 13 points off of the bench.
Josh Sangalli knocked down four 3-pointers and led the Bulldogs with 24 points. Boston Boike also connected on four of his 3-point attempts while scoring 14 points. T’e Stone had 13 points while leading the team with 5 assists and 5 steals. Andrew Thomas had a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards. Ben Cox provided 10 points off of the bench.
The Cougars shot 62.9% from the field and 85% from the free-throw line. Clermont out-rebounded Boyce 36-29 and spread the ball around, picking up 27 assists as a team. Boyce shot 45.5% from the field and 70.8% from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs shot 38.7% from the three-point line and turned the ball over 25 times.
UC Clermont wins their fourth game in a row to improve to 6-3. The Cougars will host Atlantis University on Thursday at 6 p.m. Boyce drops their third straight game to fall to 5-7. The Bulldogs will travel to take on Kuyper on January 6th at 7 p.m.
