BATAVIA, Ohio- The UC Clermont Cougars won their sixth game in a row when they beat Andrews University by a score of 101-70 on Saturday night. The Cougars built up a 49-25 halftime lead. The momentum remained on their side as they out scored the Cardinals 52-45 in the second half.
Kenyon Gardner shot 10-for-14 from the field while recording a double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Landon Naylor shot 8-for-11 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line while finishing with 24 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Robbie Johnson knocked down three triples while finishing with 13 points. Caden Zeinner scored 11 points and dished out a team-high 6 assists. Luke Kirklin connected on a pair of triples while finishing with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. AJ Austin Robinson had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks off of the bench.
Duane Darrett knocked down three triples while finishing with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Demarien Nichols had 16 points while Preston Flowers had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mugabe Menani had 7 points and a team-high 6 rebounds (tie), 4 steals, and 3 assists (tie).
The Cougars shot 56.5% from the field, 45% from three, and 81.5% from the free-throw line. They out rebounded the Cardinals 50-31 and had 21 assists as a team.
UC Clermont improves to 16-5 overall and will travel to play Miami Hamilton on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Andrews University falls to 13-12 overall and will host Great Lakes Christian College on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
