CINCINNATI, Ohio– The Anderson Raptors capped off a perfect regular season with a 42-7 win against the Loveland Tigers on Friday night. Anderson jumped out to an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Owen Scalf played nearly perfect, completing 21 of his 22 pass attempts. Scalf ended the game with 461 total yards (356 passing, 105 rushing) and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing). Jordan Davis gained 95 total yards (51 receiving, 44 rushing) and three touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing). Cooper Kathman and Tysin Weaver each had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Tyler McCaleb had nine carries for 137 yards and the lone touchdown for Loveland. Calvin Lorek had a team-high 2.5 sacks, while Dalton Schottmiller had a fumble recovery for the Tigers. Lorek finished second in the ECC with 7.5 sacks on the season. Defensive tackle Danny Waters also finished in the top 5 for sacks on the season, racking up 6 of them for the Tigers.
Jordan Davis got the scoring started with a six-yard touchdown run with 07:29 to go in the first quarter. Owen Scalf scored on a 71-yard run a couple of possessions later to push the lead to 14-0. Scalf found wide receiver Cooper Kathman on a 69-yard touchdown on the next drive to give Anderson a comfortable 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Davis found the end zone again, catching a pass from Scalf with 13 seconds remaining in the first half. The Raptors went into the locker room with a 28-0 lead.
Tysin Weaver caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Scalf on the first drive of the second half. The Tigers got on the board with a two-yard run from Tyler McCaleb with 07:48 remaining in the game. The Raptors responded with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Scalf to Davis on the next possession, capping a 42-7 victory.
Anderson finished with 512 yards of total offense and 19 first downs. Loveland gained 234 yards and picked up eight first downs. Scalf finished the regular season as the ECC passing leader with 3,307 yards. Weaver finished as the leading receiver in the ECC with 878 yards. Davis finished as the ECC leading scorer, scoring 21 touchdowns and converting on 14 two-point attempts. Brady Kuhn finished in the top 5 of the conference in both tackles and sacks; racking up 86 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
Anderson finished the regular season 10-0 overall and 9-0 in conference play for the second consecutive year. The Raptors outscored their opponents by a 489-127 margin. Anderson has a bye week and will await their playoff opponent for a matchup on November 7th. Loveland ends the regular season at 4-6 overall and 4-5 in the ECC.
