Kings @ Anderson Game Recap

     CINCINNATI, Ohio- Kings grabbed the lead in the second quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 70-34 win over Anderson on Saturday night. Ty Stylski led the Knights with 281 all-purpose yards (234 rushing, 47 receiving) and six touchdowns (five rushing, one receiving). 

      The first quarter was scoreless and not an indicator as to how this game would turn out. Ty Stylski scored on an eight-yard run in the second quarter, followed by a 10-yard touchdown run by Max Sannella to give the Knights a 14-0 lead. Ty Stylski found the end zone again from two yards out and had Anderson staring at a 21-0 deficit. The Redskins had to respond and they did, cutting the lead to 21-7 by scoring on a 10 yard pass from Jackson Kuhn to Jerrick McClanahan. This was set up by a good kickoff return by Evan Upchurch and a good run by Andrew Williams on fourth and two. Kings didn’t waste any time. Will Kocher found Dawson McCulley on a 76-yard touchdown pass and the Knights took a 28-7 lead into halftime.

     The Knights and Redskins went back and forth in the third quarter. Ty Stylski and Andrew Williams each had a rushing touchdown to make the score 35-14. Will Kocher connected with Ty Stylski on a 21-yard touchdown and Jackson Kuhn had a rushing touchdown from seven yards out. Stylski had another rushing touchdown to give Kings a 49-21 lead at the end of three. Anderson only trailed 49-28 in the fourth quarter after an Andrew Williams 10-yard touchdown run. Kings responded with two touchdown runs from Stylski and Jackson Kwasniewski. A 94-yard interception return for a touchdown from Gabe Hunt gave Kings a 70-28 advantage. Evan Upchurch scored on a 25-yard reception from Jackson Kuhn to make the final score 70-34.

     For Anderson, Jackson Kuhn went 31-for-44 and had 417 yards with two passing touchdowns. Kuhn also had 13 rushes for 61 yards and a rushing touchdown. Andrew Williams had 11 carries for 100 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Williams also had 97 yards on eight receptions and a receiving touchdown. Jerrick McClanahan had eight receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown.

     For Kings, Will Kocher went five-for-seven, had 132 yards, and two touchdowns. Ty Stylski had 29 carries for 234 yards and five rushing touchdowns. Stylski also added a receiving touchdown and had 47 yards on four receptions. Dawson McCulley had four receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.

     Anderson drops to 1-1 and will travel to Lebanon High School to take on the Warriors this Friday. Kings will be on the road at Middletown High School to face the Middies on Friday.
