CINCINNATI, Ohio- The Kings High School Knights will travel to Anderson High School to take on the Anderson Redskins on Saturday, September 5th at 7 p.m. Anderson is coming off of a 50-40 win against the Little Miami Panthers and is looking to improve to 2-0 in the ECC (Eastern Cincinnati Conference). Kings cancelled their first game against Winton Woods High School. The Knights were planning on having their Senior Night this past Friday, but have now rescheduled it for September 18th against Lebanon High School.
The Redskins had 526 yards of total offense against Little Miami and will look to carry this momentum forward on Saturday night. Jackson Kuhn went 22-for-34 with 368 passing yards. He had three touchdowns through the air and two rushing touchdowns. Andrew Williams rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Evan Upchurch had seven receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. Jerrick McClanahan had 100 yards and a touchdown on six receptions. Joey Faulkner also scored a touchdown and had 90 yards on four receptions.
Kings will be hungry for a win in their first contest of the season. The Knights are coming off of a 6-4 season and won four out of their last five games. They went undefeated in the month of October and finished 4-3 in the ECC after losing their first two games in conference play last season.
Recent History: Anderson won last year’s matchup against Kings by a score of 59-41. The Redskins are 3-6 against the Knights since 2012. Kings and Anderson met in the postseason of 2018, where Anderson won 42-35.
