Anderson @ Lebanon Game Preview
LEBANON, Ohio- The Redskins will be on the road to Lebanon High School to take on the Lebanon Warriors on Friday, September 11th. Anderson comes into the game at 1-1 and will look for a rebound win after a 70-34 loss to Kings High School last Saturday night. The Warriors are also coming into this game at 1-1. Lebanon had an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter but lost 27-20 against Winton Woods High School last Friday night. The Warriors will look for a win to kickoff their Homecoming weekend. This is Lebanon’s first season competing in the ECC ( Eastern Cincinnati Conference).
Keith Farr has 156 rushing yards and three touchdowns for the Warriors so far this season. Lebanon is led by quarterback Brayden Everitt, who has 245 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Everitt also has a rushing touchdown. Blake Lamb has stood out at receiver. He has seven receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown. Seth Meyers has five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors. Eric West has 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Josh Harris and Parker Dillhoff also have 1 sack each for Lebanon.
The Redskins are led by Jackson Kuhn, who has 785 passing yards and five passing touchdowns. Kuhn also has three rushing touchdowns. Running back Andrew Williams has 230 rushing yards and four touchdowns for Anderson. Williams also has a receiving touchdown. Receiver Jerrick McClanahan has 262 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Evan Upchurch has 181 yards receiving and a touchdown. Joey Faulkner has a touchdown on 156 receiving yards.
The key for Lebanon will be to control the clock. They want to have a high time of possession and get their run game going. They have ran the ball 53 times through their first two games, compared to 43 pass attempts. The Warriors will want to have the same success on the ground as Kings did against Anderson last Saturday. Defensively, Lebanon will look to get pressure on Jackson Kuhn and throw Anderson’s high scoring offense out of rhythm.
The key for Anderson is their explosive, balanced offense. They must win the battle in the trenches and avoid becoming one dimensional. Establishing the run game early on will keep the Warriors guessing. If the Redskins are running and passing the ball efficiently, we could see another high scoring game from them. Anderson has scored 84 points through two games this season. Defensively, Anderson will look to stop the run attack of Lebanon and force them into three-and-outs early in the game. If Anderson’s offense can capitalize off of those three-and-outs, they can gain momentum very early in this game.
