MORROW, Ohio– The Anderson Raptors first road game ended in a 50-7 victory over Little Miami on Friday night. Quarterback Owen Scalf finished the night with 226 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air. Scalf also rushed for 78 yards and had a rushing touchdown. Running back Jordan Davis rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. Wide receivers Cooper Kathman and Tysin Weaver each had a touchdown reception. Mark Madden returned a punt for a touchdown for the Raptors.
Cooper Kathman caught a 20 yard touchdown pass from Owen Scalf less than 4 minutes into the game to give Anderson the early lead. A Mark Madden rush on the two-point conversion would make the score 8-0. Madden would then take a punt 75 yards to the end zone just a few minutes later and Jordan Davis converted on the two-point conversion to extend the lead to 16-0 midway through the first quarter. Owen Scalf rushed for a ten-yard touchdown on the next possession to give the Raptors a commanding 22-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Little Miami scored in the second quarter to cut the gap to 22-7. Anderson would respond with a two-yard touchdown rush by Jordan Davis with a little under four minutes left in the half. The Raptors would get the ball one more time and would score on a five-yard touchdown pass from Owen Scalf to Tysin Weaver with just 11 seconds to go in the second quarter. A Brayden Moore reception on the two-point conversion gave Anderson a very comfortable 36-7 lead going into the locker room.
Jordan Davis rushed for a 4-yard touchdown two minutes into the third quarter to give Anderson a 43-7 advantage. Jeremiah Glenn put the exclamation point on the game in the 4th quarter with a 34 yard touchdown on his lone carry.
Anderson converted on 6 of their 7 third down opportunities and gained 395 yards of total offense. The red hot Raptors offense had 20 first downs and averaged over eight yards per play. Little Miami struggled offensively, gaining only six first downs and a total of 70 yards.
Anderson improves to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in ECC play. The Raptors will host Lebanon next Friday night at 7 p.m. Little Miami drops to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Panthers will travel to play Walnut Hills next Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
