VINCENNES, Indiana- The UC Clermont Lady Cougars fell to the Vincennes Trail Blazers by a score of 101-37 on Friday night. The Trail Blazers scored 31 points each in the first two quarters of action to propel themselves to a 62-15 halftime advantage.
Vincennes won the rebound battle 52-21 and had 28 assists as a team. The Trail Blazers shot 52.4% from the field, 33.3% from three, and 75% from the free-throw line. The Lady Cougars shot 25.9% from the field, 20.8% from three, and 40% from the free-throw line. UC Clermont turned the ball over 16 times compared to just 4 times by the Trail Blazers.
Zion Hayes shot 9-for-11 from the field and 2-for-3 from three-point range while recording a double-double with 21 points, a team-high 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, and 3 blocks. Netala Dixon shot 9-for-13 from the field while finishing with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Dzenifera Rieksta shot 5-for-8 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line while finishing with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and a block. Emani Washington knocked down two triples and had a near double-double with 10 points, a team-high 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Lazarie Daniel connected on 2 three-pointers and gave the Trail Blazers 10 points and 3 assists off of the bench.
Tamira Scott finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. McKaila Hatton made four triples while finishing with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Keara Brooks led the team with 9 rebounds and also dished out 2 assists. Lucy Rosen connected on a three-pointer while finishing with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Vincennes sits at 19-7 overall and will travel to play Wabash Valley College on Saturday at 6 p.m. UC Clermont falls to 10-12 overall and will prepare for the USCAA National Tournament in Buffalo, New York.
