BATAVIA, Ohio- The UC Clermont Cougars jumped out to a 53-34 halftime lead and never looked back in a 100-82 victory over the Wright State-Lake Campus Lakers on Tuesday night.
The Cougars shot 56.8% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range. The Lakers shot 45.6% from the field and 40% from three. Both teams struggled from the free-throw line. The Lakers shot 66.7% while the Cougars shot 47.1%. UC Clermont won the rebound battle 50-37 and had 30 assists as a team. Wright State-Lake Campus had 17 assists as a team, but also turned the ball over 17 times.
Caden Zeinner made four of his five three-point attempts while finishing with 20 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. Robbie Johnson knocked down three triples while finishing with 19 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Landon Naylor shot 8-for-11 from the field while finishing with 18 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Kenyon Gardner shot 8-for-13 from the field while finishing with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, a team-high 4 blocks, and 2 steals. Luke Kirklin had a near double-double with 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. AJ Robinson shot 5-for-5 from the field and recorded a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists off of the bench.
Zack Vencill connected on four triples while finishing with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Allen Underwood shot an efficient 7-for-10 from the field while recording 16 points, a team-high 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Delvaun Phillips had a near double-double with 13 points and a team-high 9 rebounds off of the bench. Rashaud Finley had 10 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
UC Clermont wins their second game in a row and caps off a 12-0 regular season home record. The Cougars sit at 18-6 overall and will prepare for the USCAA National Tournament in Buffalo, New York. Wright-State Lake Campus ends the regular season at 4-23 overall.
