NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio- The UC Clermont Lady Cougars beat the Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles by a score of 71-63 on Saturday. It was a thrilling, come-from-behind victory. The Golden Eagles jumped out to a commanding 31-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kent State Tuscarawas would then out score UC Clermont 14-5 in the second quarter to take a 45-19 lead into halftime. The Lady Cougars never gave up. They doubled the Golden Eagles in points in the third quarter, out scoring them 26-13. They still trailed 58-45 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Cougars continued their hot offense and played stellar defense in the final quarter. They out scored Kent State Tuscarawas 26-5 and capped off an impressive 71-63 victory.
Tamira Scott finished with 27 points and 5 rebounds. McKaila Hatton knocked down eight triples while recording a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Lucy Rosen had a team-high 2 blocks while also recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Cadence Stutz finished with 20 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Mallory Stutzman hit three triples while finishing with 15 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Abbey Parker had a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
UC Clermont improves to 8-10 overall and will travel to play Miami Middletown on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Kent State Tuscarawas falls to 14-4 overall and will host Terra State on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
