BATAVIA, Ohio– The UC Clermont Lady Cougars beat Miami Middletown by a score of 76-52 on Wednesday. UC Clermont jumped out to a 23-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Cougars stretched their lead to double digits in the second quarter, taking a 42-28 advantage into halftime. Clermont dominated the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Thunder Hawks 20-4 and putting the game out of reach.
Tamira Scott had a team-high 28 points and 7 assists on the night. Keara Brooks had a double-double with 19 points, 19 rebounds, and 5 blocks off of the bench. Lucy Rosen added 13 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.
Taryn Dewberry had 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists for Miami Middletown. Sam Bean added 19 points, 2 steals, and a block. Myiah Morris had a team-high 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Lady Cougars shot 10-11 from the free-throw line and out rebounded Miami Middletown 67-47.
The Lady Cougars improve to 6-8 overall and will travel to play Ohio Christian next Wednesday at 5 p.m. Miami Middletown loses their 5th consecutive game and fall to 2-6 overall. They will travel to play Penn State Fayette on Saturday at 1 p.m.
