BATAVIA, Ohio- The UC Clermont Cougars go over the 100-point mark for the third time this season in a 101-83 win over Miami Middletown on Wednesday night. The Cougars have won 7 of their last 8 games and are 7-0 in the Cougardome. The Cougars jumped out to a 53-41 lead after one half and outscored Miami Middletown 48-42 in the second half.
Kenyon Gardner shot an incredible 13-for-15 from the field en route to a 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocks performance. Jack Kronauge knocked down four 3-pointers while adding 28 points. Landon Naylor shot 7-for-10 from the field while finishing with 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Caden Zeinner led the team with 7 assists and AJ Robinson had a near double-double (9 points, 9 rebounds) off of the bench for the Cougars.
Kadar Gardner led Miami Middletown in scoring with 16 points. Tyler Weathington finished with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Alex Mullins also pulled down 7 rebounds while adding 13 points. Jakari Parker had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and a team-high 3 assists. Ramy Ahmed provided 11 points and 3 steals off of the bench.
The Cougars connected on half of their 16 three-point attempts and shot nearly 60% from the field while Miami Middletown shot just a touch above 40% from the field. UC Clermont had 15 blocks and won the rebound battle, 45-36.
UC Clermont improves to 9-4 overall and will travel to play Wright State Lake on Saturday at 2 p.m. Miami Middletown falls to 0-12 and are searching for their first win when they take on Clark State next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
