CEDARVILLE, Ohio– The Cedarville University Yellow Jackets beat the UC Clermont Cougars by a score of 98-79 on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets led 49-36 at halftime and outscored the Cougars 49-43 in the second half.
Jonathan Whiteside shot 8-9 from the field for 18 points and 6 rebounds off of the bench for the Yellow Jackets. Sam Johnson had a near double-double with 17 points and 9 boards. Anthony Ruffolo led the team with 7 assists while scoring 11 points. Ethan Sellers made four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points, while Jaylen Davis scored 13 points and pulled down 4 rebounds.
Jack Kronauge led the Cougars in scoring with 19 points. Kenyon Gardner had a team-high 7 rebounds and 3 blocks while scoring 13 points. Isaiah Tyson also scored 13 points while dishing out a team-high 5 assists. Robbie Johnson connected on a team-high four 3-pointers and gave the Cougars 13 points off of the bench.
Cedarville shot 52.7% from the field while UC Clermont shot just 42.3%. The Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the Cougars 49-30.
UC Clermont falls to 7-4 overall. The Cougars will play Kent State Tuscarawas on January 4th at 3 p.m. Cedarville improves to 6-5 overall. The Yellow Jackets will play Kentucky Wesleyan on January 3rd at 1 p.m.
