BATAVIA, Ohio– UC Clermont wins their fifth game in a row with a 103-76 victory over Atlantis on Thursday night. The Cougars took a 56-36 lead into halftime and outscored the Atlanteans 47-40 in the second half.
Caden Zeinner knocked down four 3-pointers and had 27 points off of the bench. Kenyon Gardner had a triple-double with 23 points, 11 blocks, and 10 rebounds. Isaiah Tyson dished out 13 assists while Landon Naylor had a near double-double with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Santiago Insaurralde had 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Folayemi Salako led the team with 10 rebounds. Sonny Matos connected on three 3-pointers while adding 12 points off of the bench.
The Cougars out-rebounded the Atlanteans 63-47. UC Clermont shot 52.9% from the field while Atlantis shot just 35.3%. The Cougars shot 36% from the 3-point line and 80% from the free-throw line. The Atlanteans shot 17.4% from the 3-point line and 54.5% from the free-throw line. UC Clermont dished out 31 assists to just 12 from Atlantis.
UC Clermont improves to 7-3 on the season and are undefeated in the month of December so far. The Cougars will travel to take on Cedarville University on Saturday at 12 p.m. Atlantis falls to 9-5. The Atlanteans will travel to take on Miami-Middletown on Friday.
