BATAVIA, Ohio– The UC Clermont Cougars beat the Community College of Beaver County Titans by a score of 93-73 on Friday night. The Cougars were up 42-34 at halftime and cruised in the second half, outscoring the Titans 51-39.
UC Clermont shot 58.7% from the field compared to 40.6% from Beaver County. Both teams shot over 40% from the 3-point line, with the Cougars making nearly half of their attempts (10-21). The Cougars out-rebounded the Titans 45-34 and played a relatively clean game with just 7 turnovers. The Titans turned the ball over 16 times.
Landon Naylor shot 7-11 from the field and finished with 17 points, 8 assists, and 5 steals. Isaiah Tyson had 16 points and 4 assists while Jack Kronauge added 12 points for the Cougars. Luke Kirklin nearly had a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Robbie Johnson was a spark plug off the bench, finishing with 16 points and knocking down four 3-pointers in the process. Austin Robinson shot 5-6 from the field and had a double-double off of the bench with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Trey Armstrong led the Titans with 13 points. Jaden McMeekin knocked down 3 triples and finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Kameron Greil added 11 points and 3 assists.
The Cougars move to 5-3 overall and will be at home against Boyce on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Titans fall to 3-8 overall and will travel to take on Miami Hamilton on Saturday at 3 p.m.
