• Cincinnati State falls at home to Columbus State

    The Cincinnati State men's basketball team lost to Columbus State by a score of 96 to 84.

     

    Despite a game-high 38 points from sophomore guard Anton Hutchins, the Surge had no answer for Columbus State's balanced offensive attack led by Jordan Watson, Glenn Cosey and Darnell Tubbs - all of whom scored 20 or more points. Cincinnati State also struggled from the free throw line hitting just over 64% as compared to Columbus State's 75%.

     

    After the loss to Columbus State, who is currently ranked 6th in the NJCAA polls, the Surge stand at 13-5 overall with a 2-2 conference record heading into a road matchup against defending Ohio Community College Athletic Conference champion Cuyahoga Community College on Saturday, January 28th.

  • The Cincinnati State women's basketball team wins at home against Columbus State

    The Cincinnati State Lady Surge beat conference rival Columbus State by a score of 81 to 55 on Wednesday night.

     

    The Surge had a balanced scoring attack led by center Taylor Frazier who had 15 points, 17 rebounds and 8 blocked shots. Small forward Kara McLemore also finished with 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 7 steals. Guard Dominique Fischer finished with 14 points followed by forward Asia Dillingham who had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Starting point guard Alexis Fitzpatrick recorded 9 assists in the victory.

     

    Improving to 18-0 overall with a 4-0 conference record, the Surge, who currently rank no. 2 in the NJCAA polls, will look to continue their winning ways on the road against Cuyahoga Community College on Saturday, January 28th.
